Sunny Free Crochet Pattern

Here's the first FREE pattern!


Materials: 3 mm hook, cotton yarn (A: sunny yellow, B: curry), stuffing, yarn neadle, stitches marker, crewel.

Abbreviations: Mr (magic ring), sc (single crochet), sl st (slip stitch), ch (chain), inc (increase), dec (decrease). 

Color change: Work in the color A until two loops of the last stitch remain on the hook. Use the color B to complete the stitch.

Legs (make 2, color A)

1. 6 sc in Mr (6)

2. (1 sc, inc)x3 (9)

3. -4. 9 sc (9)

5. (2 sc, inc)x3 (12)

6. -7. 12 sc (12)

Do not cut the yarn once you have completed the 2nd leg.

8. Merge the two legs together. Join the yarn with a sc to the 2nd leg, crochet around 11 sc, then keep working on the other leg, 12 sc (24)

9. 24 sc (24)

10. (3 sc, inc)x6 (30)

11. 30 sc (30)

Start stuffing.

12. 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc)x5, 2 sc (36)

13. -14. 36 sc (36)

15. 5 sc, dec, (10 sc, dec)x2, 5 sc (33)

16. (9 sc, dec)x3 (30)

17. 4 sc, dec, (8 sc, dec)x2, 4 sc (27)

18. (7 sc, dec)x3 (24)

Keep stuffing as you go.


Head (color B)

19. (2 sc, inc)x8 (32)

20. (3 sc, inc)x8 (40)

21. (4 sc, inc)x8 (48)

22. (5 sc, inc)x8 (56)

23. -28. 56 sc (56)

29. (5 sc, dec)x8 (48)

30. 48 sc (48)

31. (4 sc, dec)x8 (40)

32. 40 sc (40)

33. (3 sc, dec)x8 (32)

34. (2 sc, dec)x8 (24)

35. (1 sc, dec)x8 (16)

36. 8 dec (8)

Fasten off.


Arms (make 2, color B)

1. 6 sc in Mr (6)

2. (1 sc, inc)x3 (9)

3. 9 sc (9)

4. dec, 7 sc (8)

5. 8 sc (8)

6. dec, 6 sc (7)

7. -8. 7 sc (7)

9. dec, 5 sc (6), sl st

Fasten off and leave a long tail.

Sew the arms between round 17th and 18th on the body.


Sunshine (make 7, color A)

1. 6 sc in Mr (6)

2. 6 sc (6)

3. (2 sc, inc)x2 (8)

4. 8 sc (8)

5. (3 sc, inc)x2 (10)

6. 10 sc (10)

7. (4 sc, inc)x2 (12), sl st

Fasten off and leave a long tail.

Sew the sunshines around the head, look at the photo.


Slim sunshine (make 6, color B)

Crochet 12 ch, in the 2nd ch 1 sl st, 10 sl st. 

Fasten off and leave a long tail. 

Sew the sunshines around the head, between the big sunshines. 


Embroider the eyes between rounds 26th and 27th , 4 sc in width. Leave between the two eyes 8 sc.

Embroider the mouth between rounds 23th and 24th, 4 sc in width.
